National Doughnut Day

Today I found out it was national doughnut day but sadly I didn't even have a bite of a doughnut which was quite disappointing considering I'm a doughnut fanatic. Strawberry jam ones have to be my favourite. Despite them being ridiculously unheathy when I see them in my kitchen i can't help but grab one. Oooooo then there's the theme park dunkin donut's. Small, warm, bite sized beauties dipped in heavenily chocolate and sugar what more could you ask for on a day flying on the highest rollarcoasters. Thinking about it now I should have taken a trip to krispy kreme today.
Just a few photo's of doughnut's while I dream of them :)

Production week

Production week for my drama exam should be remained sleep deprevation week as the dark dreery circles under my eyes would easily justify. One long week of extensive rehearsals and pressure until our final performance for our exam (oh and frequent trips to the coffee machine.)
I am always a girl who loves to wear make up, I adore the perfection of make up how it finishes off my outfits and makes me feel ready to face the world. However the make up brushes were safetly packed away during the week.

With the brushes away its strange how free I felt. Yes I looked exceptionally tired and even frightened myself when looking in the toilet mirror, but that child like innocence in my skin glowed continually. The idea of make up not clogging up my pores is what pushed me through the week, and nobody looked at me differently. So the conclusion to make up is beauty is really skin deep not just whats applied to your face. So girls remove the mask and embrace your skins beauty.

The two piece

It's bikini time...some people dread them three words. They echo the insecurities of a female's body but have become a mandatory summer essential. With so many different styles and shapes it's hard to find the perfect one but you can't just have one bikini on holiday so how do women cope with shopping for the ultimate two piece. These two piece packages don't come cheap either, so shopping on a budget and trying to look good on the beach becomes a nightmare. There's not just that nightmare but there's also the looming hell of finding the bottoms in your size then having to hunt around to find the matching top (which isn't always as easy as it seems.) Despite the heart raising worries of finding bikini's there are some beautifully bold bikini's on the highstreet this summer.

The Sun has got it's hat on...In spring

As the sun beams down on the dull and dreey city, all of a sudden everyone strips off and the small town with about one field resembles something of southend pier in the height of summer. Nonetheless with the deadly looming exams creeping up ready to attack me, I have not been a sun worshiper this week but a library hobbit. There's no time for glitz and glam in the sun when your head is logged between piles of revision books ( looks like the tan will have to wait.) Even with the pressure of exams I can most definately say everything does look better in the sun.
We all constantly moan about our busy lives, our money which is shrinking quiker than the ozone layer  and always feeling unaccomplished but we never look for the happiness that surrounds us. It may be the discounted pair of shoes you've been waiting to go in the sale for months and they finally have or even a thank you as you hold open the door for a passer bye. Its the simple things in life that we all forget like the Sun and how happy it makes us, as we force ourselves to become reluctant to smile, we have been the big grey clouds in our lives. We just need a doze of vitimin D from the Sun to realise not everything is doom and gloom.

Its not yet summer but I cannot wipe the smile off of my face as it's spring awakening...

Hollywood - Venice Beach

With the stresses of school and piles of work, time has run away with me.
Despite the confindment to my room for weeks on end studying hard, the February half term still treated me to something special, an almost guilty pleasure which was a trip to Hollywood.
Fast Food diners, american accents, sun and a friendly buzzing atmosphere welcomed me. Just like London, Hollywood is made up of quirky areas. For day's we were running around the sites soaking up the film capital of the world, but on the last day we were fortunate to relax on the beach. Streches of bed linen white sands and the cascading ocean blue waves were in sight, I couldn't help but stand still for a minute and embrace the sand and waves against my feet (even if the sea was freezing cold). Along the dreamlike beaches in Venice beach made me imagine bricklane- but without this beautiful weather and the sea and sand. We had spent days wondering around designer shops in Rodeo Drive and living the tourists dream of visiting the movie sets (with countless blisters). However visiting Vience Beach, was like a whole new world. Endless miles of stalls, crazy stunt men, rollar skaters, dancers and artists. Oh and the tattoo and piercing parlours (which some of my friends stopped of in.) L.A is definately a city where dreams come true.

Hollywood

The excitement is definitely building inside of me for Sunday, when I arrive at the airport my months of waiting for this day to arrive will finally be released, as this Essex girl, I'd never thought I would say it is jetting off to the bright lights of Hollywood. We've all imagined ourselves bent down touching a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, or strolling round a set in Universal Studios, we'll my dream has surely come true. You've done exceedingly well the media department at my school, as roughly around 30 adolescent hormonal teens including me are setting off to Hollywood (all I need to do now is pack oh dear.) One week of mammoth amounts of diner food and burgers so tall you probably need to stand up to eat it, is what awaits me.

Perhaps it comes from my years idolising the stars and the glammer of Hollywood (especially Rodeo drive) is where my excitement comes from, but this trip (even though educational- they have to say that) is definitely a dream come true of mine. When I think of school trips I refer back to long coach journeys to windy beaches and canoeing in minus temperature water (normally Cornwall) or holding hands with your partner so you don't get lost while you struggle through the dreay formulated streets of London to a museum- which is usually followed by a pack lunch on the green. Nevertheless this year has proven me wrong- I'm waiting for someone to wake me up and tell me this visard was all a dream.

Rodeo drive is one of the hot stops I'll be bumping into on my travels, sadly I don't think my teenage budget will spare that far, I highly doubt it, but one never stops someone from window shopping. I don't think my sprits can be dampened when I'm in the city of my dreams and I'm way from the gloomy grey streets of London. After a difficult few months of intense studies for school (even over Christmas) this trip couldn't come sooner. Head in books, eyes going square like my tissue box on my desk and fingers becoming frozen with the pain of writing too much on endless essays, my break from AS levels is finally in sight. Despite my mocks this week, I can't help but be excited for my week to come.

Its a blue thing

Jessica Alba sure did the colour blue justice at The Bafta Awards 2011. I've never been a massive fan of the colour blue, but I have to say she sure made me change by mind. This electric flowing marvel ticked all the trends this s/s 2011. The minimalistic jewellery is one of my favourite I have to say, worn with a beach dress that vintage necklace would still be as beautiful. I think she's definitely won the crowd this time, with this Atelier Versace floor length floating sea of blue.
