The Turban Trend

I have always wanted to try the turban headwear look that has been trending for sometime now however I have never delved into the eastern vibe yet, perhaps in 2012 I may just have to. Moreover, when looking at the idea of turban headwear it is simply a quick and effective way to jazz up hair and they come in a selection of patterns and colours. Here are some photos of the turban trend...

Some of my favourite fashion icons this year

Iris Apfel for MAC

The "Rare Bird" that is Iris Apfel is releasing a collection with MAC make-up on the 5th January 2012. The 90 year old fashion icon who dares to be different with her extraordinary jewellery and exuberant wardrobe has conjured up a contemporary palette of make-up. MAC quotes the range is " a colour collection inspired by a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time." Not only are the colours boldly magnificent that will make Nicki Minaj's make up team run for the counter but all the products too have interesting names with each one named after rare birds for instance Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot, Scarlet Ibis and Diamond Dove. Look out in MAC stores next week for this quirky collection.

A new one is just beginning...

With the near year just round the corner and everyone thinks about what lies ahead in 2012 but this is the time when I reflect on 2011. It has been a good year despite some hiccups but nobody has a perfect year sorry to put a downer on the festive cheer.
However, when Big Ben struck midnight and 2011 began and we all stood their celebrating and thoughts of resolutions came to mind did we ever think we would actually keep to them. People make resolutions every year usually its to eat more health or to get a gym membership. Nonetheless, our sports clothes sit in the cupboard for months will the gym keeps on taking the money out of your direct debit. Despite the fact that resolutions are renowned for being broken this year I am going to make one and attempt very hard to stick to it. So this year my resolution is to...BLOG MORE. In theory this is a resolution I may be able to stick to. However, this year I have found myself too busy to blog what with exam pressure and activities nonetheless, even if I only put a picture up on a blog post I am going to pursue the channel of fashion more frequently instead of writing a measly one post a month.
So here's to 2012 lets hope it's a better year, and here's to me blogging more lets hope I keep it up.

P.S. As I said at the beginning how we reflect on 2011 as we head in to the new year here are some of my highlights of 2011 in photos...

A lovely surprise...

Christmas was over a few days ago but the festive spirit was still in the air especially when I was surprised with a  ticket to Matthew Bourne's Nutcracker from my best friend. The Nutcracker returns to Sadlers Wells Theatre in order to celebrate its 20th anniversary of the non- traditionalist performance.
The show was a memorizing feast of candy and sparkle. With the first scene set in the bleak nightmarish orphanage Anthony Ward quickly establishes the dreary lives of the children. Yet when the set cracks in half we enter an ice coated fantasy which takes us to a fluffy cotton candy land of rainbow colours and sweets galore. Not only were the costumes sugar coated with liquorice all-sorts that flamenco and marshmellow girls that elegantly bounce around the stage to the beat of the music but the dancing is breathtaking at first sight as they glide effortlessly on the floor and in the air.
This show can't help but put you in a good mood with its light hearted comic effect even if your not a ballet fanatic you can't help but be in awe of the entire show.

Take the indoors outside...

I love sluggishly walking around my house in my slippers. They are comfortable and lazy, when I put them on I know I'm about to sink down in to my sofa and snuggle up in the warmth.

Over the past few months I haven't helped but noticed out door slippers trending throughout the shops. To support my love for soft footwear here are a few photos of slippers for you to treck around town in. This is out door footwear at its softest...

Tis the season to be jolly...

It may be only the start of December but I'm already in the festive mood with 20 days to go. On Friday I took a trip to Westfield in Stratford. It was packed with holiday shoppers, christmas music and bright twinkling lights it couldn't help but put you in the christmas spirit.

From a younger age I have always loved the festive season: wrapped up on the sofa with a hot drink watching christmas films with the tree glowing in the corner.

When the streets are laced with lights and tinsel and I'm snuggled in hats, scarfs, gloves and jumpers as the cold winter are embraces my body you can't help but smile that Christmas is on its way.

Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live

On Sunday I went to Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live for a day out with my Mum, sister and her best friend. This day out is based on the reality model show hosted by Top Model herself Elle Macpherson. I went last year to this event and found it to be friendly atmosphere filled with stalls selling jewellery, clothes, make-up and food- I couldn't help but be in my element. What started off as a comfortable stroll around the stalls offering out free tasters of their products and then turning in to rammed viewings at the open catwalk. Despite having no empty seats at some viewings you could admire from afar and you didn’t miss a thing. The open catwalk was a great success displaying London College of Style's new range and Amy Childs new official range, and performances from Pineapple Dance Studio's and Loveable Rogue's. The day offered mini workshops and master classes for all to participate in and the models wondered around the stands wearing their incredible show outfits.

The catwalk featured exceptional dance choreography while the 13 BINTM contestants stormed down the catwalk also with performances from Bluey Robinson amongst other artists.

For fashion at reasonable prices this day epitomises fashion for all- with premium ticket which gives you a goody bag and entry into the catwalk for just £12.

Just a few pictures from the day...
