Forever 21

I have been waiting for the day Forever 21 open's its doors in London. After a long painful wait without it, it finally opened its big new doors yesterday (27th July).

I first discovered Forever 21 on my trip to Hollywood back in February and since then have been scowering their website. My experience of Forever 21 back in winter was amazing... it screamed out to me high end highstreet but with the price tag that wouldn't break my balance and purse.

The Oxford Street shop taking prime position where HMV use to be spans out over three floors (I can't wait to spend my time sifting through the clothes).

Lachlan Bailey

I was flicking through Vogue August 2011 edition earlier and as I absorbed the flood of fashion throughout my eye's took me to this article about the midi trend. The writing was complemented with photographs from photographer Lachlan Bailey. After being inspired by his creative photo's I decided to research into him and found a stream of his work on his website. From Vogue to Muse this photographer is an asset to the fashion industry.
Lanchlan is currently based in New York and his pictures possess "a very personal take on colour, light and beauty."
Especially in the article I was reading his work captures the 1940's element, however turns the dated era into a modern masterpiece that creates a laid back air in the 'city-esque' photo's.

Adding to the collection

I always get told- "stop buying jewellery you have too much already". My answer to this is- you can never have enough jewellery. I went shopping today for holiday bits and bobs however stumbled upon jewellery sales- it was so cheap I couldn't help myself.
I love sales; despite this I rarely find my size and was disappointed to say the least with the clothing sales today. Nevertheless my purchases on accessories cheered me up.
The sale especially in accessorize was one that resembled a zoo at feeding time. Everyone was prancing over your shoulder to grab the bargains or hovering by you wishing that you would put down the item that is currently in your hand. With what I could savage out of the mangled jewellery these accessories will definitely be in my suitcase.

J'adore

People continuously ask “what’s your favourite piece of clothing?” I funnily enough have never been able to answer that particular question. Nonetheless after pondering over my wardrobe and sifting through unwanted clothes and accessories of times gone by it has come to me that of course my favourite item of clothing well actually accessory in my case is in fact my vintage scarf. Everyone has those garments that sit at the back of the wardrobe waiting to be worn or are worn to an inch of their life. Well my scarf is definitely a fashion accessory of mine that is over used. With its collection of patterned colours printed over the silk it becomes a versatile treasure worn with many different items or tied round a basic bag to add a vintage twist. Whenever I pull together a plain outfit, I always find myself throwing on my scarf to create an effortless pop of colour- and to think that I only paid a few pounds for this. That is what I have to say is money definitely well spent.
