Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live

On Sunday I went to Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live for a day out with my Mum, sister and her best friend. This day out is based on the reality model show hosted by Top Model herself Elle Macpherson. I went last year to this event and found it to be friendly atmosphere filled with stalls selling jewellery, clothes, make-up and food- I couldn't help but be in my element. What started off as a comfortable stroll around the stalls offering out free tasters of their products and then turning in to rammed viewings at the open catwalk. Despite having no empty seats at some viewings you could admire from afar and you didn’t miss a thing. The open catwalk was a great success displaying London College of Style's new range and Amy Childs new official range, and performances from Pineapple Dance Studio's and Loveable Rogue's. The day offered mini workshops and master classes for all to participate in and the models wondered around the stands wearing their incredible show outfits.

The catwalk featured exceptional dance choreography while the 13 BINTM contestants stormed down the catwalk also with performances from Bluey Robinson amongst other artists.

For fashion at reasonable prices this day epitomises fashion for all- with premium ticket which gives you a goody bag and entry into the catwalk for just £12.

Just a few pictures from the day...

As the leaves turn brown...

Crunchy leaves, snuggled nights wrapped in blankets, hot drinks and the cold crisp air... Autumn has arrived. This autumn/winter I have been longing to slip into soft knits and chunky boots, what with the extended summer period my time in my thick jumpers has been delayed. Yet the sun hasn’t stopped me endlessly flicking through my internet browser and rummaging through stores clothes racks to find my winter essentials. The shops are have been hugged with rich tans, chic neutrals and cosy greys. Be prepared for an arctic winter and cocooning yourself with these winter warm ups.

The nostalgia of Fashion

Fashion embraces nostalgia. Fashion is a timeless creation and archive of re-invented pieces. Some people wallow at the thought that their bank balance won’t supply for the new trends. Nonetheless these trends are merely a cycle of refreshed ideas, you may think your Mum’s shoulder pads from ‘back in the day’ and no longer 'cool' yet they are soon to be the next trend and will again rise in a few years- its fashion through the ages. The epitome of fashion is that you can be wearing anything from any decade; it’s not about how big your bank balance stretches its how you create the original refreshed ideas. Vintage is merely the present according to the cycle of Fashion collections.

Forever 21

I have been waiting for the day Forever 21 open's its doors in London. After a long painful wait without it, it finally opened its big new doors yesterday (27th July).

I first discovered Forever 21 on my trip to Hollywood back in February and since then have been scowering their website. My experience of Forever 21 back in winter was amazing... it screamed out to me high end highstreet but with the price tag that wouldn't break my balance and purse.

The Oxford Street shop taking prime position where HMV use to be spans out over three floors (I can't wait to spend my time sifting through the clothes).

Lachlan Bailey

I was flicking through Vogue August 2011 edition earlier and as I absorbed the flood of fashion throughout my eye's took me to this article about the midi trend. The writing was complemented with photographs from photographer Lachlan Bailey. After being inspired by his creative photo's I decided to research into him and found a stream of his work on his website. From Vogue to Muse this photographer is an asset to the fashion industry.
Lanchlan is currently based in New York and his pictures possess "a very personal take on colour, light and beauty."
Especially in the article I was reading his work captures the 1940's element, however turns the dated era into a modern masterpiece that creates a laid back air in the 'city-esque' photo's.

Adding to the collection

I always get told- "stop buying jewellery you have too much already". My answer to this is- you can never have enough jewellery. I went shopping today for holiday bits and bobs however stumbled upon jewellery sales- it was so cheap I couldn't help myself.
I love sales; despite this I rarely find my size and was disappointed to say the least with the clothing sales today. Nevertheless my purchases on accessories cheered me up.
The sale especially in accessorize was one that resembled a zoo at feeding time. Everyone was prancing over your shoulder to grab the bargains or hovering by you wishing that you would put down the item that is currently in your hand. With what I could savage out of the mangled jewellery these accessories will definitely be in my suitcase.
